This workshop will show designers how to use data from mapping and information systems and to develop designs using computational methods and techniques. Participants will develop speculative solutions to potential ecological crises in New York City.
The workshop will cover data-set analysis and mapping, rule-based geometry design, and techniques for digital fabrication. Daytime sessions will focus primarily on using Grasshopper, Rhino's parametric design plug-in. Evening sessions will include lectures and presentations by experts in computational design and sustainability.
