Gemvision announced the release of MatrixGold 4.0, the latest evolution of its industry-leading jewelry CAD software. This new version introduces a workflow-driven approach that improves the way designers create, validate, and prepare for production—bringing greater efficiency, clarity, and control at every stage of the design process. 

MatrixGold 4.0 is built on a clear premise: The value of jewelry CAD is not defined by the number of tools available but by how effectively those tools support the way designers work. By aligning design, material decisions and production insights into one continuous workflow, MatrixGold 4.0 helps users move from concept to manufacturing with greater confidence.

One of the key advancements in MatrixGold 4.0 is the ability to make informed decisions earlier in the design process. Tools, such as Scoop, allow users to reduce metal weight while maintaining structural integrity,  directly supporting cost control and margin protection. The redesigned Tech Report provides clearer, more structured production data, helping designers and manufacturers align faster and move forward with confidence. 

Additional new tools and enhancements include:

• Offline Mode: Work for up to 12 hours without an internet connection, ensuring continuous productivity across environments.
• Duplicate Command: Replicate parametric elements while preserving values, enabling faster design adjustments and iteration.  
• Multi-Prong Edit: Modify multiple prongs simultaneously to improve consistency and reduce manual effort.  
• Custom Gem Builder: Create and define custom gemstone shapes with precision, from table to culet.
• Expanded Gem Shape Library: New cuts, including Lozenge, Hexagon, and Trapezoid, expand creative possibilities.  
• Award Ring Builder: Add custom text, shapes, and details to signet ring designs with a structured workflow.  
• Curve on Object: Apply curves directly to surfaces for precise, controlled design placement. 

MatrixGold 4.0 also works with Rhino 8, ensuring compatibility with the latest modeling environment and performance improvements.

MatrixGold 3.9: The Performance Update

Gemvision announced the release of the first of three major updates coming to MatrixGold Version 3 in 2025. The MatrixGold 3.9 update introduces powerful new features and enhancements that give users more control, speed, and efficiency.  MatrixGold 3.9 is built to streamline the jewelry design process, from refined parametric workflows to fully customizable quick commands.

The breakthrough in this update is the Dynamic Power Toggle, which lets users decide when to recalculate geometry. 2Shapes announces the release of RhinoArtisan 5, a new Rhino plugin for jewelry designers and manufacturers. Developed by the same producers of the well-known RhinoGold, RhinoArtisan provides a new working methodology, thanks to its innovative features. 

RhinoArtisan 5 licenses are perpetual in the commercial version and include premium technical support and training materials. No internet connection is required to use them.

CrossGems - new jewelry plugin

CrossGems is a professional jewelry software that allows you to design any complex model easily and quickly without having technical CAD knowledge.

Core and Features

All objects are linked in real time to automatically adapt when edited, allowing you to delete or modify Boolean operations or any of the 100+ CrossGems tools and keeping the parametric history in all cases. Additionally, this feature applies to Rhino gumballs, allowing you to reset transformations (move, scale, and rotate) applied to model parts and restore deleted document objects at any time, including SubD objects and Meshes, while maintaining compatibility with Rhino's Record History function.

It can also be used as a traditional modeler without the parametric system, adding the modeled objects as normal Rhino geometry.

For the most advanced users, all the tools in Rhino are also available in Grasshopper, making it one of the most versatile software in the Rhino world.

Interface

CrossGems can be run with its own interface, simplifying the workflow and as a Rhino plugin while keeping all the parametric features for users used to Rhino UI. Rendering

Materials and grounds are assigned with a single click, displaying the object weights in real-time while using any tool or simply selecting objects in the document. Furthermore, CrossGems will automatically swap materials when changing display modes to achieve the best quality for every situation.

Compatibility

CrossGems is capable of importing and converting gems from other software, such as RhinoGold and Matrix, as well as importing Panther files while maintaining 100% parametric history.
