Rhino User Webinar: MIA Robotic Hand

This webinar presents the award-winning MIA Hand, a robotic hand for amputees. It was designed to be worn with pride and help the user overcome the practical difficulties and the social stigma of losing a limb.

This session will cover how MIA Hand was designed with SubD, jointly developed with Rhino and PTC Creo, and how Rhino with Grasshopper was used for the customization.

About the speaker:
Guido Cherici is an industrial designer with a master in interface design. He is one of the founding partners at Elastico Disegno, a Product Design studio based in Turin, Italy.

Founded in 1998, they work together with clients to recognize opportunities, identify innovative ideas, and transform them into actual products, be it an electronic device, a toy, an industrial kitchen, or anything in between. 3D printed surgical guides combined with monitored guidewires for placement of cervicothoracic pedicle screws

 



Rhino and its medical plugin Rhino3DMedical have been used on a technical note in a study on the accuracy and safety of 3D-printed surgical guides for the placement of cervicothoracic pedicle screws. The study was led by the Neurosurgery Department of Centro Hospitalar Vila Nova de Gaia/Espinho and Pagaimo Medical from Figueira da Foz, Portugal.
