Essential Mathematics uses Grasshopper to introduce design professionals to foundation mathematical concepts that are necessary for effective development of computational methods for 3D modeling and computer graphics.
This second edition includes a few new sections, but most importantly, it carefully reviews the material to ensure clarity and consistency of all concepts. This edition also includes all 31 Grasshopper samples in a separate file.

Modeling for Marine Designers, online training

ArquiBio 2010 - Coimbra - June 14-18
The third edition of ArquiBio, an event that took off in recent years an international dimension, is jointly organized by the Zoological Museum, University of Coimbra, Center for the Study of Architecture, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra (CEARQ) and collaborators linked to several European and American universities. This year’s responsibility and coordination is from Dr. Teresa Baptista (Advisor of the Zoological Museum), Prof. Dr. José Fernando Gonçalves (CEARQ Coordinator) and Prof. Dr. Mauro Costa Couceiro (Bionic researcher associated with several European universities).
ArquiBio 2010 is a series of international lectures and workshops on topics connecting architecture and design with the “bio-logics”. It is intended that the lecturers and visiting scholars allow a consistent connection between current biological and architectural knowledge bringing light of recent technological advances.
The premise is that the fusion between biological and technological world is now a reality that cannot be ignored. Computers and robotics prove to be capable of releasing the architects and designers of a catalog architecture, based on still images, teaching us new fields of interaction in which complex processes similar to those that occur in nature, take center stage and allow a more consistent connection with the living environment.
RhinoBIM Structure available
RhinoBIM is a series of BIM plugins for Rhino 5 from Virtual Build Technologies LLC. The first module, Structure, is now available. This work-in-progress version is nearly feature complete and is expected to be released later this year. Everyone is invited to download it now.

GiD has been designed as a universal, adaptive and user-friendly graphical user interface for geometrical modeling, data input and visualisation of results for all types of numerical simulation programs. Typical problems that can be successfully tackled with GiD include most situations in solid and structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, heat transfer, geomechanics, etc. using finite element, finite volume, boundary element, finite difference or point based (meshless) numerical procedures. Advances in Architectural Geometry - Vienna (Austria)
Registration for the second "Advances in Architectural Geometry" workshops and conference in Vienna (Sep 18-21, 2010) is now open. Due to EC funding we can cover local expenses of young contributors, which are therefore particularly encouraged to submit their work!

VSR Realtime Renderer 2.0 is the fully embedded realtime rendering solution for Rhino. Switch from the modeling mode to a photorealistic environment at any time. VSR Realtime Renderer 2.0 goes much beyond the functionality of the previous version 1.0.

Many generative design processes have surfaced recently, especially in the world of programming. However, no clear framework has been described. This workshop will introduce participants to programming with RhinoScript within an easily understood framework. The selected domain will be tiling surfaces.
No prior knowledge of programming is expected. Programming essentials will be introduced including: basic data structures, rules, vectors, transformations, object construction methods, NURBS geometry, as well as Rhino user interface.
