Misfits of Manufacturing — From Screen to Machine, August 25-26 in Regensburg

August 25-26, 2026
CyberCraft Lab, OTH Regensburg, Germany

Many manufacturing challenges have already been solved elsewhere; they just go by a different name in another industry. Misfits of Manufacturing brings together engineers, designers, fabricators, software developers, and digital manufacturing specialists who use Rhino and Grasshopper to connect design, automation, and production. The event focuses on workflows that bridge the gap between geometry and the shop floor by integrating Rhino with legacy CAD systems, CNC machines, industrial robots, laser cutters, ERP platforms, PDM systems, and custom software solutions. Cross-industry innovation rarely happens by accident. This two-day event is designed to foster knowledge exchange between professionals facing similar challenges across different sectors.

Day 1: Show & Tell
  • Presentations and case studies exploring: Digital manufacturing workflows
  • CAD/CAM integration
  • Automation and custom tooling
  • Lessons learned from real-world production environments
  • Current challenges and unsolved problems
The day concludes with an informal BBQ and networking session.

Day 2: Workshops & Hackathon
  • Hands-on sessions focused on: Robotics and automated fabrication
  • AI integration in manufacturing workflows
  • Rhino Compute and custom user interfaces
  • Collaborative problem-solving across industries
This is a practitioner-focused event with no exhibition booths, sales pitches, or vendor presentations—just people sharing experience, ideas, and solutions.

A limited number of presentation slots are still available.
