Envisioning Design Days (EDD2026) - Milano, Italy (June 12-13)

This year's edition of EDD2026, organized by CorsiRhino, is shaping up to be an unmissable event featuring two intense days of cutting-edge workshops and conferences.

IED Milano (Istituto Europeo di Design) will host the event at its campus:

  • Friday, June 12, 2026: Six practical workshops covering key digital design topics, ranging from aesthetic surface modeling to the creation of lattice structures.

  • Saturday, June 13, 2026: A conference featuring contributions from innovative professionals and representatives from leading software houses.

Enscape for Rhino Users - A video introduction by Simply Rhino


Simply Rhino UK has made a video introduction to Enscape, a powerful real-time rendering and virtual reality plugin for RhinoIn the video, you’ll learn how Enscape works as a true plugin for Rhino, allowing you to visualize, document, and design simultaneously in your Rhino environment. 

Enscape has a wealth of assets, including People, Furniture, Lighting, Trees, and Vegetation, which are explored in the video as the architectural subject is visualized. Data is exported in both still images and animations.

Runchat is a design agent and visual canvas for automating creative processes inside Rhino. In this workshop, participants will learn how Runchat can enhance creativity and improve productivity across design tasks from concept development and visualization to design development and project management.

The workshop introduces techniques for working with generative images, including diagramming, visual storytelling, and rendering. Participants will learn how to maintain visual consistency across views and animations, make targeted edits to generated images (such as changing materials or accurately placing designs on site), and package these processes as reusable tools for use in design practice.

In the second half of the workshop, participants will explore how to use Claude AI within Runchat to develop tools for modeling, analysis, and project management. Topics include specifying design requirements for language models, simulating design constraints to explore problem spaces, iterating with screenshots and visual markup instead of code, and building simple web applications that integrate with Rhino.

The workshop concludes with a series of case studies demonstrating how Runchat can connect Rhino with other platforms such as Google Maps and Google Sheets, and how generative models are beginning to support more complex parts of the design process, including site research and early-stage planning.

Day 1: Generative Communication
  • Generating photorealistic renders from Rhino screenshots
  • Converting screenshots to stylised drawings and diagrams for visual storytelling
  • Producing quick site mockups from Rhino perspective views
  • Generating concept design variations from simple massing models
  • Automating concept design research using search tools
  • Creating photoreal videos by interpolating Rhino screenshots
  • Generating and importing 3D models and Gaussian splats for concept design
  • Generating and publishing interactive websites, layouts, and presentations
Day 2: Claude AI in Rhino
  • Writing, running and debugging Rhino Python scripts with Claude
  • Providing visual feedback to improve scripts using screenshots
  • Creating custom, reusable design tools from generated Python scripts
  • Running generative design models in Grasshopper for automated 3D model and image generation
  • Integrating ThreeJS simulations for complex modelling and analysis with Rhino
Day 3: Practice Automation
  • Case Study: Using Google Maps in Rhino
  • Case Study: Using Google Sheets in Rhino and Grasshopper
  • Case Study: Automating Site Research
  • Case Study: Drafting Town Planning Applications

Course requirements: Intermediate knowledge of Rhino is required.

Software requirement: Rhino 8

Rhino User Webinar: Adaptive Architecture

This webinar looks at ways to create adaptive buildings that adjust their design to their surroundings, such as trees on the site. This design approach is useful in the early stages when data is insufficient, when it is not possible to visit the proposed construction site, or when the location itself is not yet known. 

This kind of task needs quick, flexible solutions that let you change the design in the future without extra effort, while preserving the main ideas the architect put into it. That's why we'll use Grasshopper for modeling and AI tools for renderings.

About the speaker:
Albert Sumin is an Architect and Computational Designer at Coop Himmelb(l)au (Vienna, Austria). He is also an Autodesk Certified Professional Revit Architecture and MEP, and an Autodesk Expert Elite Alumni. Emergent Futures V1.0 explores how generative AI is transforming architectural design. The workshop focuses on using AI tools—Rhino, Blender, and ComfyUI—to create concept-driven 3D scenes. We'll discuss how today’s mix of AI, 3D modeling, and scripting empowers architects to design not just structures, but complex systems rich in relationships, narratives, and detail—often sacrificed to deadlines and project constraints. We’ll examine how mastering tools enables freedom in solving design problems. To test this, we’ll develop a concept with AI and transform it into a 3D environment, treating AI as a co-author, or even the author of the project’s core ideas. While this may sound dystopian, we’ll approach it playfully. 

Participants will generate AI imagery of architecture, landscapes, characters, and objects within one cohesive concept, then model, texture, and light the scene for rendering. The workshop emphasizes creative exploration over technical drafting and concludes by materializing our ideas into a single unified 3D scene.

In this webinar, Gregor Doblinger from Delugan Meissl Associated Architects | DMAA will demonstrate a complete workflow using the Grasshopper–Archicad Live Connection. He will showcase the roof design of the Badischen Staatstheater as a live case study, covering shape-finding processes in Rhino/Grasshopper, adaptive base geometry parametrically linked to Archicad, and strategies for maintaining design flexibility while detailing complex structures.

The session will also explore key Archicad functionalities and tips within Grasshopper—including beams, element properties, AC nodes, and generating 2D plans—and insights into workflow structure and live visualization with Enscape.


About the speaker:
Gregor Doblinger is an Austrian architect and computational design specialist with extensive experience leading housing projects and collaborating on large-scale cultural and urban developments. He studied at the technical school for carpentry in Hallstatt before studying architecture at the Vienna University of Technology, where he completed his thesis. Since 2020, he has contributed to numerous high-profile projects with DMAA. His work spans architecture, computational workflows, and interdisciplinary design, including collaborations in jewelry design.
