Monoceros 3 now available!

Monoceros is a Grasshopper plugin that assembles discrete modular structures using Wave Function Collapse. You design a set of parts, define how their faces connect, and the solver fills a 3D envelope with valid combinations. The results can range from architectural facades and spatial partitions to furniture, game environments, or abstract sculptures.

The biggest change in version 3 is how you set up a project. In previous versions, defining adjacency rules between modules was manual and error-prone, especially with rotated variants. Version 3 introduces connectors. You describe how each module face connects, including its rotation and symmetry, and the full rule set is derived automatically. Modules no longer need to be duplicated for each orientation. The overall setup requires significantly fewer components than before, both from Monoceros and from Grasshopper itself.

Documentation, workflow guides, and example files are at monoceros.tools. The documentation is also structured for AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude, which can help set up and troubleshoot definitions.

Monoceros 3 is free to use with a limited number of solver runs per session. A license removes the limit. Educational pricing is available. Projects from earlier versions can be converted.

Monoceros was created by Ján Pernecký and Ján Tóth. Version 3 was developed independently by Ján Pernecký.

Cyberstrak 2.0 for Rhino 7 and 8 - Advanced modeling for product and automotive


Cyberstrak has released a new major version of its Rhino plugin. 

Cyberstrak 2.0 contains a lot of new and updated functionality:
  • Licensing has been completely re-worked. In parallel with subscription licensing, support for perpetual licenses is now available using Rhino Account Licensing (Cloud Zoo) or Rhino's LAN Zoo.
  • New commands for creating and modeling Curves and Surfaces are available.
  • Especially when working in "Projection Base" mode on top of a selected Mesh, it gives new possibilities in Reverse Engineering processes.
  • Many detail improvements like a dynamic deviation handle, new mesh area selection methods, or support for using a bunch selected CVs in Cyberstrak's powerful CV.
  • Improved efficient modeling.
  • As usual, all modeling commands contain a local Undo/Redo and can be used in parallel with associative dynamic analyses, allowing instant control of the shape quality.

Stereotomic Stone Architecture — International Workshop

An intensive workshop exploring the design and construction of stereotomic stone structures, combining geometric reasoning, digital modeling, and hands-on fabrication. 

The digital component of the workshop will be developed in Rhino/Grasshopper, with a particular focus on Voussoir, a recently developed plugin at FAUP for the parametric modeling of stereotomic vaults. The program includes a visit to a marble quarry in Alentejo and the construction of a stereotomic stone arch. 

The workshop opens with a symposium featuring Giuseppe Fallacara, Christophe Aubertin, and Clemente Pinto.

Participation is limited to 25 selected participants based on their portfolios

RhinoCFD v3: Professional CFD Analysis Now Fully Optimized for Rhino 8


RhinoCFD v3 brings professional-grade Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) directly into Rhino 8. This latest release officially establishes compatibility with Rhino 8, enabling users to leverage the platform's updated interface and improved performance for complex fluid and thermal simulations entirely within their CAD workspace.

Powered by the brand-new PHOENICS 2025 v1.0 engine, this update introduces a decoupled Monitor Plot Window. This feature allows designers to track convergence, residuals, and spot values in real time without slowing down Rhino. Simulation setup is now more intuitive than ever; the computational grid reacts instantaneously to geometry changes—such as moving, adding, or copying objects—making the design-to-analysis loop faster and less error-prone.

Termite: Rhino Grasshopper Plugin Developed for 3D Printing of Clay


Termite is a plugin developed for Liquid Deposition Modeling (LDM) 3D printing, designed specifically for clay and other paste-based materials. Created by Julian Jauk at Graz University of Technology, it has been tested in seminars, architectural prototypes, and international workshops, and is already used in several educational institutions.

Unlike conventional slicing tools built for thermoplastics and small nozzles, clay printing typically uses nozzles from 1-30 mm, requiring precise control of the path layout, material flow, and printer movement. Termite fills this need by integrating essential slicing features—such as custom path generation, sorting algorithms, variable parameters within a single print, inrun speed control for smooth starts, extrusion flattening for reliable adhesion, and automatic detection of path intersections—directly into the parametric design environment of Rhino and Grasshopper.

Termite provides 20 modular components across the categories Main, Create, Sort, Display, and Example, supporting both beginner and advanced workflows. It is designed as an easy-to-use tool for Grasshopper newcomers, with features working immediately after installation, while still offering maximum freedom for experimental fabrication through its open, modular structure. Users can design printing paths in Rhino, Grasshopper, or via Termite’s own components, with all required G-code generated in real time.

Suitable for clay and earth-based mixtures, concrete, biopolymers, biomaterials, and various food-grade pastes, Termite works not only with LDM printers such as the WASP 40100 LDM and Delta WASP 2040 Clay but also with any machine capable of interpreting G-code, including Cartesian and polar printers or robotic arms.

Termite is available for Windows and macOS for Rhino 6 or later. The plugin includes an installer, example files, and a tutorial video. It is entirely free to use and can be downloaded via food4Rhino or installed directly through the Rhino Package Manager.

Mohammad Hassan Saleh Tabari is the co-founder of Termite Intelligence GmbH, an AEC technology startup based in Innsbruck, Austria, and the developer behind Termite Nest and Termite AI. Since 2021, Mohammad has served as a university assistant at Innsbruck University. He is currently finalizing his PhD in Computational Design, focusing on numerical models for the design of spatial and lightweight structures.

Termite has been developed since 2020, with over 6000 downloads, beginning with the Termite Nest plugin for Grasshopper. In 2024, Termite Intelligence was recognized as a finalist in the Austrian Startup World Cup. In 2025, based on community feedback, Termite turned into an intelligent design assistant dashboard to facilitate the design process.
