Scan your gems, then import into Matrix

eLUXE3D has launched their DS3 jewelry scanner. The DS3 is recommended for scanning loose stones or completed jewelry pieces, then importing into Matrix software. Read the announcement in the LinkedIn article by Chris Glaser.

After scanning, the DS3 generates an STL file that can be imported directly into Matrix, a CAD software for jewelry design and add-on for Rhino for Windows. The process is a fast alternative to photography and hand measuring. And accurate, too.

A few things the DS3 is recommended for:
  • Reverse engineering
  • Digital archiving
  • Scanning unique stone shapes
