CLIMATE RIBBON™ is a design by Hugh Dutton Associés that combines precision engineering and environmental design with an elegant sculptural form: an exciting union of art and science.
It has been designed through an holistic computation process using Grasshopper with plug-ins Ladybug and Hoopsnake. The videos (Video1, Video2) show the process of generating the blades using datascapes in order to make architecture respond to climate performance parameters.
In December the Parisian design firm with Francesco Cingolani is hosting the
2nd edition of DESIGN by DATA, an advanced Grasshopper workshop in which they
will go through the whole design process of the ribbon.
