food4Rhino webinar: Managing IFC Data in Rhino with BEAM (February 13 at 5PM CET)

food4Rhino webinar: Managing IFC Data in Rhino with BEAM
February 13 at 5PM CET

Join us for an in-depth webinar showcasing the powerful IFC capabilities of BEAM in Rhino. This session will cover everything you need to know about managing IFC files within Rhino, including importing and exporting IFC data, visualizing and editing information in the BEAM Panel, and optimizing data preparation for smoother workflows. Additionally, we’ll explore how advanced users can use Grasshopper to attach properties and write IFC files directly.

Designed for architects, designers, and engineers, this webinar will demonstrate how BEAM enhances IFC management within Rhino, providing seamless tools for importing, exporting, and organizing IFC data. Discover how BEAM empowers users to work with industry-standard formats, ensuring accurate data exchange and collaboration across disciplines.

Speakers:

Mikael Santrolli: My architectural path has always been driven by the intersection of design and technology, beginning at Zaha Hadid Architects and continuing at Foster + Partners. Working for almost a decade in BIM and computational design roles opened my eyes to how technology could elevate not only the end result but the entire design process. Recognizing that coding and programming were essential to fully realizing this vision, I immersed myself in software development, bridging the gap between architectural creativity and technological capability.

Now, at MKS DTECH, I am committed to simplifying digital workflows and empowering architects to achieve new levels of efficiency and innovation. BEAM, a project I’ve deeply invested in, bridges Rhino and Revit and IFC, transforming how architects manage and share data across platforms. This tool goes beyond technical interoperability; it empowers architects to focus on what they value the most, the creative process, free from cumbersome software constraints.

At MKS DTECH, my mission is to develop solutions that address real challenges faced by architects, making technology a true ally in the design process.

Mauro Sabiu: As an architect initially trained in traditional practices, my career took a transformative turn upon joining Perkins+Will and later Zaha Hadid Architects. These experiences ignited a passion for revolutionizing the architectural industry, not just through experimentation but by leveraging it to create good buildings. A significant part of this journey has been my dedication to enhancing the everyday work life of architects. From my insider perspective, it’s clear how much time and effort are consumed by repetitive, tedious tasks that distract from what architects truly love: Design.

Beyond the realm of design, my goal has always been to enrich the overall design process. This can be achieved only through knowledge, which in today’s world, unavoidably intertwines with technology. A prime example of this integration is BEAM, an interoperability tool I’ve supported that bridges Rhino and Revit. This tool streamlines the interoperability process, freeing architects to focus more on creative design.

Currently, at MKS DTECH, my primary objective is to ensure that our outcomes are not just successful, but also that the process of creation is enjoyable. I strive to make every day in the architectural field not just a task but a rewarding experience, enhancing both efficiency and job satisfaction for myself and my colleagues. This journey is about more than just constructing buildings; it’s about building a better way of working through technology and innovation.
