Crystallon, an open-source project for creating lattice structures using Rhino and Grasshopper, has released its Version 2.
Some of the new features in Version 2 are:
- Utilities for export to FEA packages like Abaqus and Calculix.
- Export beams, shells, and tetrahedral elements.
- Includes a component for generating lattice hinges, cuts made in a rigid material to allow it to bend into a developable 3D surface.
- Tools to calculate the surface curvature and apply patterns to the flattened surface in the direction of the bend, ready for CNC or laser cutter.
