Generative design with bamboo in Panama

A five-day intensive course for experienced designers on using 3D modeling software for building with bamboo

This course offers a chance to explore the gap between computational design software and the realities of bamboo construction. Learn about bamboo and how architects should design for durability using software such as Rhinoceros and Grasshopper. Increasing the architectural toolset and applying this to underutilized locally available sustainable materials will hopefully be the first step to build capacity in the construction section and apply this knowledge to the needs of those who need resilient, sustainable, and adequate buildings.

Course lead: John Osmond Naylor
Design tutors: John Naylor and César Cheng
Dates: October 7–11, 2019 (5 days)
Investment:  $650

Capacity limited to 12 people.
