On the iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch
There is nothing like showing your designs and ideas in 3D. Pan, zoom, and rotate with a tap or drag of your finger. The handy navigator lets you scroll through thumbnails, so you can quickly jump to any model you want. Load Rhino models from web sites, Google Docs, email attachments (iPad only), or from iTunes (iPad only). Save views as images for markup and emailing.

Works great.
ReplyDeleteBit difficult loading content.
If it were able to open files in DropBox on the iPad it would be fantastic.
Any chance for this app on Android in the future?
ReplyDeleteNot soon. We have much more we would like to do on the iPad version before we focus on the small format devices and other platforms.
ReplyDeletecan I apply textures on the model? for example - wood textures
ReplyDeleteNot yet. Hopefully in future versions.
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble loading content to my iPhone from a Google Doc.
ReplyDeleteAny tips?
it would be great to have also the possibility to turn on/off layers!
ReplyDeletegreat job!
F
i, like bellafoza above, am also eager for the release of this app into the android market. would it be possible to have some intern tweak the existing iphone app on the side, to give us something to play with, too?
ReplyDeleteThis would be great on WebOS
ReplyDeleteDropbox does seem a lot easier to work with than google docs for moving files around.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why Rhino, as a PC based product, is only offering this for the Apple Market. I would buy this in a heartbeat if it was available for the Android Market (tablets in the Android Market will soon surpass the iPad anyway).
ReplyDeleteHopefully, McNeel will rethink its Apple-only stance to support the rest of the Rhino users who don't use Apple.
Having an android version is a must. It would be great to be able to leave the laptop at home and bring my light weight tablet instead.
ReplyDeleteI would like an Android version as well. Great idea
ReplyDeleteAlso waiting for it to come out in the Android market.
ReplyDeleteDoes the ipad app have vga supprt/functionality
ReplyDeletePlease please release this on the Android Market! Patiently awaiting this wonderfully usable app for on-site verifications and imagining.
ReplyDeleteyeah, it will be great on android and other platforms like Windows Phone
ReplyDeletecome on !!!
Thanks Devs. I'd like to second the request to read files through dropbox...it's where many people logically archive their designs and also use on the iPhone.
ReplyDeleteCarl Miller
Yep, another one waiting for android release.
ReplyDeleteAdd one more to the android box. How many people who use rhino are mac users anyways?
ReplyDeleteYes, please android. How many of your clients are PC users...100%. Also now Android has a larger market share than iOS. Please this would be a great tool out in the field.
ReplyDeletePlease keep in mind that iRhino3D is an app for the iPad. It just happens to run on the iPhone. We will focus more development on pad applications but not on phone application for the foreseeable future.
ReplyDeletePlease, please adapt this app to allow dimensions to toggle on and off!! While you're at it, add a "distance" tool with simple snapping
ReplyDeleteI too am waiting for an Android version. As many of my customers have Android based phones/tablets. It would give a huge edge over catia.
ReplyDeleteGreat application! I realy wish the basic commands be part of the app with layers, it will let me do some précise sketches on a building site! my measures will be precise and clean with the right scale. Visual arq would suit pretty well also! Ipad should be more than just a show instrument. great app, best regards
ReplyDeleteErol (rhino for you)
Oh, i must wait for the android version!
ReplyDeletethere is quiet a few android tablets out there that is more powerful than the iPad so if you are focusing on the tablets than why is it availble for android tablets
ReplyDeleteAndroid is not only an Os for phones, there are many powerful tablets now. Autodesk released a wonderful Autocad app for Android and it would be really useful if McNeel could do the same.
ReplyDeleteAndroid version release date?
ReplyDeleteHi Bob,
ReplyDeleteany news about the android version??
I definitely agree there is a need for an Android TABLET app. Most designers were using PC's until very recently. Bob, your right in your thinking about this being strictly a tablet app though. The tablet gives it much more functionality. Good luck with your progress. I'll be keeping a close eye for the Android version. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe source code is here:
ReplyDeletehttps://github.com/mcneel/rhinoviewer
You are all welcome to build an Android version.
Android please... good bye iOS!
ReplyDeleteAn android version would be awesome! Please, somebody build one!
ReplyDeleteAs a former iPhone 4 user with this app I must say it was awesome. But, like everyone else I sorta "grew up" and went Droid. But alas, I was heartbroken to see that an innovative organization like McNeel isnt very concerned with porting this out to a more superior product like Android. C'mon guys....you know what to do. ;-)
ReplyDeletehow i wish i knew what all those source code meant...
ReplyDeleteI would love a Rhino app for my Sony S tablet. I already use Autodesk Design Review and IPM Viewer. THe problem is that these are just viewers. I would love something where I can Model on site and show clients diferent posibilities.
ReplyDeleteAndroid, please!!!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWhen are you planning on launching an app for the world most common mobile software – Android?
Thank you.
I'm adding my voice for android as well. I'm an avid rhino user and have a nexus 7. Would LOVE to be able to review models on this device. Please support your full rhino community!

ReplyDeleteUsually Rhino users works with a PC and usually they will not buy an Ipad, they could have done it in the past when no android tablet was on the market, but now all Rhino addicted are on Android.
ReplyDeleteWhy pushing an Apple app??
By now the latest tablet is better than my old laptop...why I should not use my tablet to work with Rhino while on business trip?
leave apple app and make business where it is going on.
I would love an Android app as well. Android is on fire right now, and I don't see why, just as it did for the phone market, it would not take over the tablet market as well.
ReplyDeleteAndroid version please!!
ReplyDeleteI have an old slow iPad but I am switching to Samsung Note 2 simply becasue it is large enough for my presentations and fits in my pocket. Long time apple user now moving to android. Thanks Rhino!
Hi, I am for android app too, please.
ReplyDeleteApp only for for ipad is bad....
here is no progress....
I have to say that as an avid iPhone user, I love the Rhino app. That said, I finally got a tablet that would fit in a pocket: the Nexus 7 (Android). I was going to go with an iPad mini, but they don't quite fit in most jacket pockets (or jeans back pocket), and heck, they cost $200 more. The only thing I really miss in the Rhino app... all the other viewers for 3D on Android that I can find are *terrible* compared to iRhino. So... yeah, throwing in my voice here as a person that is sticking with his iPhone, but moving to Android for the tablet.

ReplyDeletePlease, release an Android App!
ReplyDeleteRhino is the reason why our whole office setup is based on win/Android devices and not Macs..... So pls pls Android pls! Wie need it

ReplyDeleteWhy on earth is there no Android app for viewing 3dm files??? I´ve been planing to buy an andoid based tablet for the contruction site. Apple is not an option... damn
ReplyDeleteOn my Ipad mini, In dropbox i can see all may folders and 3dm files., and have no problem downloading files.
ReplyDeleteWhy it doesnt work fine in gDrive ?
android please!:)
ReplyDeleteandroid please!:)
ReplyDeleteStill no Android app..?
ReplyDeleteAny other options to view models on mobile devices?
What a bunch of whiners! This is a great development done on iPad which is the leading pad . Let these hard working developers take a bit of praise and satisfaction before launching into new demands. As Mr McNeel said have at it with the source code. Dare say not one of the whiners gets past line one of the code before throwing up their hands. By the way I am an artist who loves rhino and has written code too. I know some of what it takes and greatly appreciate this foray...
ReplyDeletefor windows phone, please!
ReplyDeleteHi .
ReplyDeleteI've been using rhino for years, when will you provide an Android App?..
Windows phone apps +1
