VisualARQ "Grasshopper Components" webinar
Join this webinar (February 25, 2021) and learn how to work with VisualARQ objects in Grasshopper. You will see how to automate design modeling workflows using BIM objects, how to assign, extract and manage data on geometry, and the different component types that VisualARQ provides for Grasshopper.
This webinar will be presented in two identical sessions, the first one in English (4 pm CET), and the second one in Spanish (5 pm CET). Each session will take around 30 minutes, with some Q&A.
Registration is free but seats are limited.
- Abiotic environment and architecture parameters: International and national georeferenced datasets (climatic conditions, urban form, etc.), local building features, normative constraints and design aims and uses.
- Humans parameters: human comfort conditions, physiological, psychological and social benefits of nature to humans.

In this online course, you'll learn different working methodologies and how to use tools such as Grasshopper, Karamba, Tekla Structures, and Pangolin. These tools will allow you to automate the design and calculation process to obtain the best structural solution possible. From some initial conditions and through the use of genetic algorithms and visual programming, you'll be able to process thousands of possible solutions to obtain the most optimal one.

We received this info from Technion:
The Architecture and Planning Faculty at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, is recruiting a postdoctoral/PhD positions to work in the EU-funded research project ECOLOPES – a game-changing design approach for regenerative urban ecosystems.
ECOLOPES is a HORIZON 2020-FET OPEN funded research project proposing a radical change for city development: we aim at urbanisation to be planned and designed such that nature – including humans - can co-evolve within the city. The goal of the project is to transform the building envelope into an ecolopes, a multi-species living space for four types of inhabitants: humans, plants, animals, and microbiota.
The advertised positions will be critical in developing the ECOLOPES Computational Modelling and Simulation Environment, which will make knowledge available for design. The overall goal of ECOLOPES is to provide the technology that enables an iterative design process based on the simulation of the dynamic development of the ecolope, and its various subsystems and their interactions. It builds on the EIM Ontology and will facilitate a radically new level of interaction between architecture, urban planning, ecology, and environmental medicine.

DesignMorphine, an international educational institution, announces their accredited 9-month Online Master of Science program, crafted to be accessible from the comfort of one's home. The program aims to fulfill the demands of those who seek to exceed and lead in the field of multidisciplinary advanced and computational design.
The Master's schedule is split inτο five leading Design Chapters and five supporting Technical and Theoretical Labs that span the 9-month long academic year. Through them, students will encounter and learn advanced techniques and design processes from world-renowned designers and architects.
During the Design Chapters phase, they will start with the generation of a single unit and its new features, i.e., the enhanced human body. They will then progress to develop more complex architectural entities around that, reaching the state to build global systems and networks.
Through the Technical Labs, students will master a variety of software for parametric and generative design, like Maya, ZBrush, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Houdini, Unreal Engine, C#, etc. They get to use virtual reality, visualize their concepts through the Media Lab, and work with Prototyping Machines and Swarm Robotics. Furthermore, students will be taught how to formulate a concrete, expandable theoretical frame to support their vision. At the end of each monthly cycle of lessons, participants will present their work and discussion will follow. Mentors and acclaimed designers will be called to participate and provide a fresh perspective. At the end of this journey, students will have obtained a variety of skills, allowing them to be ready to take on any project in any working environment.
