Drink beer. Help preserve nature.

A Florida brewery is doing its part to protect the earth and marine mammals with its design of six-pack holders.

Traditional plastic holders for beer and pop can get wrapped and caught around marine mammals necks and bodies, often becoming lethal. Now Saltwater Brewery has designed six-pack holders that are edible for wildlife.

"Around the world, an estimated one million sea birds and 100,000 marine mammals and sea turtles become entrapped in plastic or ingest it and die," Mark Tokulka, a marine biologist, explains in the company video.

Saltwater Brewery's holders are made from the byproducts of the beer making process, mostly barley and wheat remnants. So they are biodegradable, compostable, and edible.

See their Facebook page. Or watch the company's video to see Rhino in action.

Packhunt.io - Experience the revolution of bespoke products

White Lioness technologies recently launched Packhunt.io, a system that facilitates every step to sell your product. From importing your Grasshopper definition, to fluent online 3D viewing and modification. It facilitates sales and even taps into your production workflow.

The platform can be scaled and changed to suit a broad variety of applications and sectors and can be used online or in-store.

Packhunt.io for tailormade eyewear

For the eyewear industry White Lioness technologies teamed up with Sfered Intelligence and Fuel3D to develop a multi brand in-store platform for the custom eyewear.

Grasshopper definitions that contain years of investigation and knowledge about the design and fabrication of glasses have been imported into Packhunt.io. An optician can use these definitions through an in-store web-based system via Packhunt.io and link them to a 3D scan of a customer.
The optician can show the customer what various options look like and make them perfectly fit to the customer’s face. When adjusting a parameter, for instance the height of the glasses, the model smoothly transforms to this new state, all based on the parametric and associative knowledge from the Grasshopper definition.

Review of AA Summer DLAB 2015 outcomes

InFlux is the final working prototype of AA Summer DLAB 2015 that took place in AA’s London home and Hooke Park facilities from July 27th to August 14th, 2015.

InFlux is the outcome of the exploration of the fabrication and assembly of double-curved complex geometries through the integration of generative design techniques and robotic milling strategies. In 2014, the research initiated on the material behavior of concrete. It has been developed in the 2015 cycle by further investigations linking geometry, material, and structure. Realized as a wall with 2.2 meters height, 4 meters width, and varying depth of 3–25 cm, InFlux was developed, fabricated, and assembled in seven days.
