Winning gold with Rhino

Top model Luisa Brunet with Thayane's design
Anglogold Ashanti mining company sponsors one of the largest jewelry design competitions in the world. Last year, Thayane Carvalho da Silva won Best Newcomer Category with her design called Cardume. The piece was designed with Rhino.

The Brazilian competition takes place every two years and attracts designers from around the country. The jewelry designers reflect on a theme and translate them into gold.

The 2010 theme was "inspired by the great shoals which inhabit the seas and oceans, where large groups of fish demonstrate synchronicity through functional movements, everything and everyone is in harmony."

"you always need to hear both sides of the story"...

In January 2011, AngloGold Ashanti was named the world's "Most Irresponsible Company" at the Public Eye Awards, hosted by the Berne Declaration and Greenpeace in Davos, Switzerland. The nominating organisation, WACAM (Wassa Association of Communities Affected by Mining), catalogued the company's history of "gross human rights violations and environmental problems." (from wikipedia)

congratulations

a very sad Rhino user...

Hey! I'd like to thank Rhino's Team for posting my design here!

In response to their comment, I'd like to say that i'm sorry to read this. In Brasil, Anglogold promotes the most important jewelry design competition, and it is so nice the way that they give to us, designers, the opportunity to show our ideas.
It is sad to know about this side of the company =/

Design must always be concerned about environment, people and a lot of more things!
