New Authorized RhinoFabStudio in Spain: FablabUE (Universidad Europea de Madrid)

FablabUE from Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM) is pleased to announce that it recently became an Authorized RhinoFabStudio.

At FablabUE, students can make anything from architectural models to 1:1 scale design objects. They have at their disposal a variety of 3D printers as well as materials, a CNC milling machine, a vinyl cutter, a laser cutter, and robot arms. The center is also equipped with traditional and manual tools for welding, painting, molds and dies, plaster, concrete, ovens for clay, wood transformation tools, etc.

FablabUE is integrated into the UEM, so it is mainly used by undergraduate architecture, design, art and engineering students, but also by postgraduate students from the Master's courses organized by the university. Professionals or students from other universities or companies have to contact the center for a price quote for admission.

FablabUE staff are trained to use Rhino. Rhino is used for designing and also, in the case of the CNC milling machine, to create the post codes via RhinoCAM 2. Paths for robot arms, when used with a clay or PLA extruder, are created in Grasshopper with Silkworm.

For four years now, first year undergraduate students have been trained in Rhino and Grasshopper at different subjects - as ‘Architectural geometry’ or ‘Integrated Drawing workshop’ - by the ART Diego García Cuevas, who is in charge of FablabUE. Rhinoceros has become their main tool for their projects' development.

FablabUE invites you to visit RhinoFabStudio website and have a look at its profile.
