3rd Parametric Design Workshop Leipzig

3rd Parametric Design Workshop Leipzig
Leipzig, Germany
Dec 6-10, 2012

Parametric modeling has been promising a multitude of new possibilities in the design process of buildings and structure. Often parametrically controlled designs have been focused on the decorative since they were developed geometry -- based in thin air.

This workshop's aim lies in defining a new combination between the formal possibilities of the modeling software and the more objective criteria of an adapted FEM structural analysis tool by working with an integrated combination of Rhino, Grasshopper, Karamba and Galapagos for evolutionary optimization.

With these options we want to widen the realms of the interested architect and move the intelligent dialog with engineering to a new level.

With a maximum of 40 participants from different disciplines and origins we expect an intensive and vibrant dialogue. Known experts will assist participants in their work and guarantee high quality tutoring for steep learning curves.

Expert presentations will connect the workshop content to state-of-the-art research and industrial practice.

We invite all interested architects, engineers and students of architecture and engineering to apply to rambow (at) for their place in what should be another exciting and rewarding Parametric Design Workshop in Leipzig.

Guest lectures and tutoring by:

Clemens Preisinger, KARAMBA Wien
Thorsten Strathaus, Bollinger+Grohmann Frankfurt a. M.
Christian Heidenreich, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
Andreas Kronberger, Lindner Group, Arnstorf
Tobias Stoltmann, Lindner Group, Arnstorf
