Summer in the City: Grasshopper workshop in Portland





LaN and the University of Oregon - Portland School of Architecture and Allied Arts are joining together to offer a Grasshopper workshop during the University of Oregon SUMMER IN THE CITY series. The three-day workshop will focus on Associative Design through Grasshopper for students and professionals.

  • Fee: $750 (UO students and 2010 graduates are eligible for a $300 scholarship toward this course fee.)

Grasshopper is a parametric design environment suited for designing relationships versus explicit objects or forms. While Grasshopper is considered a graphical algorithm editor, it requires no knowledge of programming or scripting but enables designers to generate and control complex forms. Learn basic functionality of this vast interface. The workshop will look at ways to construct logics which take advantage of diverse data sources, algorithms, geometry, and manufacturing processes. Instruction will be conducted at the beginner/intermediate level. Prerequisite: Rhino 4.0 modeling.
